Application Deadline: January 10, 2013

  • Deadline for applications for admission and financial aid is January 10, 2013 for the academic year beginning in August 2013.
  • Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

How to Apply:

Students applying for admission to our graduate program must submit the following:

  1. Application Form: A completed online application for admission.
  2. Official Transcripts: Sent to address below from all colleges and universities attended. Photocopies are not acceptable.
  3. Recommendations: three letters of recommendation from relevant faculty at your current or prior institutions who know your work. It is best to solicit letters from professors with whom you have studied linguistics, but letters from faculty in related disciplines are also useful.
  4. GRE®: Scores from the GRE® General Test
    • The school code for reporting your scores is 6609.
    • The department code is 2903.
  5. Writing Sample: Please include an article or term paper that you have written to allow the admissions committee to become better acquainted with you, your writing abilities, and your academic interests.
  6. TOEFL or IELTS: Required for international students who are not native English speakers.
  7. Fee: An $85 nonrefundable application fee paid online by credit card or electronic check.
